Babe
started playing trumpet at the age of eight and the trombone at the age
of 10. He had his own 10 piece band in junior high school and a fourteen
piece band in high school. The vocalist in his band was, Gayle Peck, who
would later be know as Julie London. Later Babe played with Artie Shaw, Stan Kenton, Dextor Gordon, Chuck Cabot, Hawk Halstead, and Les Carlson Bands. To hear the music click on songs highlighted in blue. |
Today, Babe is a composer of music that belongs in the ears of anyone who likes a mixture of country, big band, and swing. He collaborates with Patricia Messner who writes lyrics. Their songs cross many genres of music. They tell beautiful stories, and are constructed with fantastic melodies and arrangements. Add the great musicians that played on the songs and you have a 12 song CD that you should be proud to have in your collection. |
